Thursday, November 6th: Annual Casa Dia Potluck

Mark your calendar to join us for the Annual Casa Dia Potluck Dinner on November 6 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. This is a great time to share dinner with staff and get to know your child’s classmates and their families. Each family is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. We will provide meat, bread, paper products and beverages.

Friday, November 7th: Bethesda Southgate Visit


Each month, senior citizens from the Bethesda nursing home/assisted living community come for a visit. Seniors and children do crafts, color pages, sing songs, or read books together. The kids and the seniors have formed quite a bond and we always look forward to their visit.

Tuesday, November 11th: Veterans Day

Everyone is asked to wear red, white & blue to school in celebration of Veterans Day. If you have a veteran in your family, please invite them to join us. Parents and grandparents who are veterans are invited to join us for breakfast from 6:00-8:00 a.m. At 8:15 a.m. there will be a brief presentation from the children to say thank you for serving our country. You may also feel free to stop by the office to sign a star in honor of your veteran. Pictures are also welcome!

Wednesday, November 19th: Photos with Santa

Santa is coming to Casa Dia for pictures! This early date will allow time for you to receive pictures well before Christmas.

Thursday, November 20th: Thanksgiving Luncheon

All parents of preschool children in Rooms 3, 4, 5 & 6 are invited to join us for a Thanksgiving Luncheon from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please make plans to join your child for a special lunch and a time of giving thanks. Please sign up for this event. We want to have plenty of turkey and all the trimmings. As a special treat, the children will present a Thanksgiving song for our guests.

Thursday, November 26th – Friday, November 27th: School Closed

We will be closed on November 26th and 27th in honor of Thanksgiving. We hope you enjoy some wonderful family time!

Monday, November 3rd – Wednesday November 19th: Food Collection for Webster-Rock Hills Ministries Food Pantry

We are collecting food donations for the Webster-Rock Hills Ministries food pantry. We ask that all donations consist of non-perishable items such as

  • Meat products
  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Toilet paper

Donations can be dropped of in Angela Haffer’s office by November 19th. We are also collecting items for Our Little Haven from the wish list emailed to the families, a wonderful origination that helps families get on their feet, as well as families with other problems by offering counseling for children, teens and parents. All donations can be placed in my office by November 19th. We thank you for all of your help. This is a great way to teach children the importance of helping others.

Monday, November 10th – Friday, November 14th: Thanksgiving Pie Events

We would like to invite the parents or grandparents to join their child for Thanksgiving Pie. They will come to the school at the stated time and enjoy pie in the child’s classroom for that hour.

  • Monday, Nov. 10th: Rooms 1A, 1B and 1C from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov 11th: Rooms 1D, 1E and 1F from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, November 12th: Rooms 2A, 2B and 2C from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
  • Thursday, November 13th: Rooms Pk3 and Pk4 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Friday, November 14th: Rooms Pk5 and KDG from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Friday, November 21st: Santa Visits Our School

Santa will be visiting the school. We will take pictures with Santa for the children who would like to participate. Please dress your child for their pictures and send a change of clothing for later if you would like for them not to mess up their outfits.

Thursday, November 26th – Friday, November 27th: School Closed

We will be closed on November 26th and 27th in honor of Thanksgiving.

Monday, November 10th – Friday November 14th: Scholastic Book Fair

Please take a look at all of the wonderful books at our Scholastic Book Fair. We usually earn over $1,000 in books for our school library. This helps us replace the old books that have seen lots of love. Think ahead for the holidays: books make great gifts for children and adults. Please note that we take Credit/Debit cards ONLY for Book Fair Payments. Just come to the office and we will be glad to help you with your purchase.

Monday, November 10th – Friday, November 21st: Fall Conferences

Two year olds, primary students, and Kindergarten students will have parent-teacher conferences in November. This is a wonderful way for your child to know that you care about their learning. Conferences are 30 minutes long. Please sign up at your child’s classroom door. We look forward to letting you know how wonderful your child is doing in all aspects (socially, emotionally, physically, and academically).

Wednesday, November 19th: Kindergarten Thanksgiving Play

The children will be have a private showing of a Kindergarten play that is done each year.

Thursday, November 20th: Thanksgiving Feast

We will have the traditional food items at our Thanksgiving Feast as well as substitutes for children that cannot eat turkey. Also, each classroom will have a sign up sheet for children to bring in fruit. They will make a community fruit salad to eat with their Feast. Our Kindergarten children have a different Thanksgiving Feast. Kindergarten Parents are invited to see a play that their children perform. After the play, you will join your child for the Feast. Hope to see you there. Please come at 11:30 to join your child. Half day children should plan on staying for the play and the feast!

We will be closed on November 26th and 27th in honor of Thanksgiving.
