The Montessori Culture

The Montessori Method insists on a well-rounded approach to child development and feeds children’s natural curiosity through learning. These activities build off the more basic branches of the Montessori Method, such as the sensorial and language areas.

Subjects Covered in Cultural Activities

In Montessori, culture studies are incorporated into the curriculum for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years, and include a wide range of subjects, such as:

  • Botany
  • Zoology
  • Scientific Experiments
  • Geography
  • History
  • Music
  • Art

Natural sciences, social sciences, and fine arts allow children to explore the greater world around them. Our lessons at North American Montessori are more than just lectures about these subjects. Cultural activities are hands-on experiences that encourage children to compare and contrast, evaluate and calculate. In addition, our schools offer field trips and on-site guest speakers to get kids excited about learning.

The Cultural category of the Montessori Method is one of our five branches of learning that lead to a fulfilling early childhood education.
